I began working on painting the Ché Café community fridge in May 2022 with two friends Fia and Crystal. The first side of the fridge was inspired by “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” featuring green onion dinosaurs and an orange slice sun. We used acrylic paint and began sketching out our process with markers. While painting the piece we were aiming for something bold and eye-catching. To achieve this we created contrast between the sky and orange slice as well as adding dimension and texture with a black marker. The white highlights and purple stream help guide the eye throughout the piece. Here are a few pictures of the progress:
