After hanging up my initial test strand I tied a piece of string across three poles in order to create a guideline for my horizon. Then I began applying paint chips to the cube. I tied clear sewing thread to the top of the cube and allowed it to hang at the bottom. I then used a hot glue gun to apply glue to the back side of one paint chip and I sandwiched the clear thread in between the glue paint chip and another paint chip. I made sure to vary the color to make the piece feel more fluid. When the strand turns the paint chips flip between the colors on each side to create a shifting/shimmering effect.
