Progress

I began by hole punching the paint chips according to their color family.  So far I am creating circles that are 2in 1.5in and 1in in diameter.  I wanted to focus on the larger circles first before getting into the smaller circles for details.  I was also able to get cardboard to use as a panel once I figured out how to create my frame.  I was also able to order three neopixel rings off amazon to began experimenting with the lighting.

Setbacks

I headed to the design and innovation building makerspace in order to solder the wire onto my neopixel.  My first mistake was that I have never used a wire stripper before and I think I cut in too deeply to the wire.  I also proceeded to fail at soldering the wire onto the light.  The set up of the wiring was really awkward since the three wires were perpendicular to the light.  As a result I think the wires might have bent too much in my backpack.  When I came home to test the light with my arduino the arduino would not work.  That is when I realized that the wires were most likely not properly soldered since the arduino turned on by itself but not when I attached the wire.  I then proceeded to attach an unsoldered light to the arduino and I got the light to work.  Tomorrow morning I will be heading to Envision to solder a second light and attempt to save the first.
