Progress

I was able to properly configure my pir sensor by adjusting the two knobs on it.  I got it to detect motion around 6-7 feet away which is perfect for the dimensions of my project.  Now I need to work how my code on how I would like to use the motion detection in my lighting.  The motion detection is supposed to trigger the lighting into turning brighter or showcasing different colors but I am currently running into an issue of how long to wait before detecting motion again.   For example if the sensor detects motion my code could go into a one minute loop displaying different colors before checking for motion again, and if not motion is detected it will go back into a dimmer or static static lighting state while it waits for motion again.

Setbacks

The doors are gone.   I was planning to take them to campus this weekend but my office did not communicate with maintenance again after I confirmed I wanted to take the doors.  the doors were cut in half to be disposed of since the heavy rain made them soggy.  I was still  able to grab some solid pieces to see if I could still work with them.  But it will be difficult now since I will have to tile them all together.  My office mentioned that they might have some other doors for me to take but I am now exploring other materials that I could use for my panels.
