Now Playing is a black and white still life created for my beginner painting and image making class at UCSD (VIS 106A) The still life features a record and flowers placed elegantly on a cloth. This painting was created during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I aimed to capture the warmth and melancholy feeling of staying inside on a rainy day while listening to cozy music. The black and white nature of the painting help further push the narrative of an event in the distant past that the viewer is reminiscing over.
